ABB Power Products Medium Voltage to Increase Instrument Transformer Pricing Due to Higher Material Costs

2011-06-21 - ABB Inc. announces a new price increase for Instrument Transformers manufactured in Pinetops, North Carolina.

In this time of escalation of commodity costs, ABB has worked hard to minimize the financial impact on our customers. We have strived to provide the shortest lead times, the highest quality, the best products, and the greatest value in the industry.

Unfortunately, as communicated in previous announcements, the cost escalation of key raw materials such as polyurethane, electrical steel, aluminum, carbon steel, and thermoplastic rubber remains an ongoing and serious concern. As a result, the following price increases will become effective on all quotes beginning July 1, 2011:

      Low Voltage Metering Transformers: 8-10%
Low Voltage Plastic Case Transformers: 6-10%
      Bushing Current Transformers: 6-8%
Polyurethane Medium Voltage Instrument Transformers: 8-10%
HCEP Medium Voltage Instrument Transformers: 8-10%
Customers with blanket agreements will be contacted to review the price impact on an individual basis.

ABB will continue to monitor this unique market trend and continue to work to provide customers with the highest value. Please contact your local ABB representative with any questions.
