ABB i-bus® KNX technology is used primarily to control lighting in the museum. The individual functions include automatic lighting control, timer control and light scenes.
Comparing the museum's power consumption before (2006) and after (2007) installation of ABB's KNX intelligent building control, the museum achieved energy savings of about 28 percent.
Power consumption decreased by more than 38,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) per month, and the museum saved almost 80,000 euros in the first year of using KNX.
