ABB supports Solar Impulse decision to continue in 2016

Solar Impulse 2 soars above Switzerland during a 2014 test flight, ahead of its round-the-world odyssey to highlight the promise and potential of renewable energy. It will now remain in Hawaii before resuming its journey in 2016.

“ABB fully supports the decision of Solar Impulse to continue its round-the-world flight in 2016. The Solar Impulse project was created to demonstrate the potential of clean technologies and what can be achieved with innovation and a pioneering spirit. It has already achieved those objectives with its record-breaking flight of five consecutive days and nights across the Pacific Ocean on solar power alone. ABB is very proud of its innovation and technology alliance with Solar Impulse, and we look forward to continuing the round-the-world journey with the Solar Impulse team next year.”
